Rock Football vs Shepherd

Slippery Rock defeated Shepherd on November 30, 2019 to advance them into the quarterfinals. They beat Shepherd 51-30 in the second round of the D2 playoffs. Roland Rivers threw for 416 yards and also four touchdowns. Jermaine Wynn had a record setting game with 18 catches while putting up 229 yards and also 2 touchdowns. Charles Snorweah also contributed a lot to the high powered Rock offense with 163 yards and two touchdowns. Next week The Rock will be playing Notre Dame of Ohio. This will be the consecutive meeting in this round for these two teams with Notre Dame winning last year. This game will be held at Slippery Rock this year as the Rock hope to keep their national title dreams alive.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cincinnati Bengals

The steelers beat the bengals November 24th 2019. It was a horrible game for anyone who did not watch and if you did I am sorry for what you saw. I know that JuJu, James Conner, and Pouncey were out but the offense looked horrible. The defense is one of the best I have seen in a long time. They have big playmakers that make stops and get turnovers when needed. It does not help whenever your offense gives the ball right back either. I believe that they need to find something that works on offense if not they are going to lose their wildcard spot.

Rock Football Next Matchup

Slippery Rock will be hosting Shepherd this weekend in the D2 football playoffs. Shepherd is coming off a last second win against IUP. I was hoping that we would end up playing IUP again just so we could beat them again. Most of Shepherds games have been close with a loss coming from Kutztown a team that we just ended up beating the other week. I think that we have enough talent for a long push in these playoffs but first we have to beat Shepherd Saturday @ 1.

Rock Football wins PSAC

Slippery Rock has won the PSAC championship. The Rock had to score 16 unanswered points to come back and win the PSAC title. It was a hectic game as I watched from the last 4 minutes of the game. I got to see The Rock make a field goal with 3:59 left in the game to put them down by 4. The Rock then played lockdown defense to get a quick three and out so they could go down the field in the last minutes. After they scored it turned into a nail biter as Kutztown drove down the field to miss the game winning 51 yard attempt.
