Slippery Rock defeated Shepherd on November 30, 2019 to advance them into the quarterfinals. They beat Shepherd 51-30 in the second round of the D2 playoffs. Roland Rivers threw for 416 yards and also four touchdowns. Jermaine Wynn had a record setting game with 18 catches while putting up 229 yards and also 2 touchdowns. This will be the consecutive meeting in this round for these two teams with Notre Dame winning last year.
